Professor Kesselring specialises in rehabilitation of patients with diseases of or trauma to the nervous system, e.g. stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease etc. He has authored 140 Original publications and Editor or Co-Author of 15 books, mainly related to Multiple Sclerosis, Neurorehabilitation, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Since June 2005, Jürg Kesselring has served as President of the Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society. He is also President of the St. Gallen Foundation for Culture. In December 2010 he was elected a member of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) co-opted, for which he worked as a physician from 1978 to 1982 as part of several missions.
