Dr. Jiwon Oh MD, PhD, FRCPC, FAAN

St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada

Dr. Jiwon Oh is a staff neurologist, scientist, and Medical Director of the Barlo Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Program at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, and specializes in the care of people living with MS. Dr. Oh’s research focuses on developing advanced MRI techniques for use in clinical settings, and the development of large datasets. She leads the MRI research program at St. Michael’s Hospital and is the principal investigator on numerous local and multicenter collaborative studies, including the Canadian Prospective Cohort Study to Understand Progression in MS (CanProCo), a national prospective cohort study designed to better understand progression in MS. Dr. Oh is also the Secretary and an Executive Committee member of the North American Imaging in MS Cooperative (NAIMS) representing a multinational collaborative MRI research endeavor in MS with over 40 sites in North America. She is deeply committed to caring for people with MS, educating future generations of clinicians and scientists, and contributing to scientific developments that will drive the field forward.

Dr. Amit Bar-Or MD, FRCPC

Centre for Neuroinflammation and Experimental Therapeutics University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)

Dr. Amit Bar-Or holds the Melissa and Paul Anderson President’s Distinguished Chair at the University of Pennsylvania, where he directs the Centre for Neuroinflammation and Experimental Therapeutics (CNET) and serves as Chief of the Division of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and related disorders. His clinical focus is on MS and other neuroinflammatory disorders in both adults and children, for which he is cross-appointed at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and he co-directs the age-span program in MS and related disorders that ensures seamless pediatric through adulthood transition of care and provides a focus on education and research. Dr. Bar-Or’s research focuses on neuroimmune health and central nervous system (CNS) inflammatory diseases across the age span, with a particular interest in developing clinically meaningful biomarkers and advancing precision medicine in autoimmune and CNS inflammatory diseases. He has published over 350 peer-reviewed publications and led multiple national and international collaborative research initiatives. Dr. Bar-Or is the recipient of multiple awards, including the 2021 prestigious Barancik Prize for Research Innovation in Multiple Sclerosis.
