Dr. Annette F. Okai, MD

North Texas Institute of Neurology and Headache, Plano, TX, US

Dr. Annette Okai is fellowship trained in Multiple Sclerosis. She is the Director of Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis Research at North Texas Institute of Neurology and Headache in Plano, TX and Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Okai is a fellow of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

In addition to her clinical practice, she is actively engaged in multiple clinical trials in multiple sclerosis and has been published in several neurological journals.

She is a graduate of MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine (now Drexel University College of Medicine) in Philadelphia. She completed her neurology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Okai was the recipient of the National MS Society fellowship award and a fellowship grant from the National Institutes of Health. She completed a two-year fellowship in clinical neuroimmunology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and has a graduate certificate in public health.

Dr. Bhupendra O. Khatri, MD, FAAN

Center for Neurological Disorders, Milwaukee, WI, US

Dr. Bhupendra Khatri is the Medical Director of the Center for Neurological Disorders in Milwaukee, WI. This is one of the largest MS centers in the country, caring for over 4000 MS patients.

He earned his medical degree from the Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India and completed his residency in Neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He continued as an Associate Professor of Neurology at MCW until 1990, at which time he opened the Center for Neurological Disorders.

Dr. Khatri has authored two award-winning and bestselling books, Healing the Soul: Unexpected Stories of Courage, Hope, and the Power of the Mind and Healthcare 911. In 2015, Dr. Khatri was recognized with the National MS Society Lifetime Achievement Award.

Professor Thomas P. Leist, MD, PhD

Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, US

Thomas P. Leist, MD, PhD, is Professor of Neurology, Chief of the Division of Clinical Neuroimmunology, and Director of the Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Center at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He also directs the Jefferson Medical College fellowship program in clinical neuroimmunology.

He earned a PhD from the University of Zurich in Switzerland and received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Leist completed his residency at Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Medical Center in New York, and he trained as a fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

He conducts translational, immunological, imaging, and outcomes research in multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune and infectious conditions of the CNS. Dr. Leist is involved in clinical trials at all stages of development. In addition, he serves on the editorial advisory board for Practical Neurology and is a reviewer for several journals including Multiple Sclerosis, Annals of Neurology, and Journal of Neuroimmunology.
