David Bates is professor of clinical neurology at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He has been
involved in clinical trials of MS for more than 20 years. His department is currently involved in six trials as well as laboratory studies into axonal injury and damage.

In this interview, he talks about what can and should be achieved both with medicines currently available, but also with new treatments that are en route. Professor Bates spoke on this subject at MS Life 2009: NewcastleGateshead.
