Founded in 1995, the Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS®) is a leading community of experts from the United States and Canada dedicated to advancing treatment and research in multiple sclerosis (MS) and other demyelinating diseases. ACTRIMS is a hub for knowledge exchange, education, and collaboration across disciplines.

ACTRIMS hosts the Annual Forum, a premier event bringing together seasoned and emerging clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals. The Forum is a platform for exchanging groundbreaking discoveries, debating current challenges, and exploring advances in basic and clinical MS research.

A core focus of ACTRIMS is fostering the next generation of MS specialists. Initiatives include the Neurology Resident Summit in Multiple Sclerosis, held alongside the Forum. The goal of the Resident Summit is to primarily educate fourth-year medical students, PGY-2 and/or PGY-3 residents about:

  • State-of-the-art MS therapeutics and research
  • Opportunities for training in fellowship programs
  • The spectrum of careers that are attainable in MS research and clinical practice

The annual ACTRIMS Forum showcases cutting-edge scientific discoveries that enhance understanding and improve care for MS patients. The upcoming Forum 2025, themed “Making Connections,” will offer a dynamic environment to inspire, network, and drive the conversation forward.
