Friedreich ataxia is an inherited progressive neurological condition. The modified Friedreich Ataxia Rating Scale (mFARS) combines timed measures of performance with functional disability staging, allowing for the measurement of disease progression over time. Antoine Duquette is a neurologist at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Neurosciences at Université de Montréal. He specializes in genetically mediated neurodegenerative diseases including hereditary ataxias. He has contributed extensively to international guidelines and studies on Friedreich ataxia and other rare movement disorders, and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications.
