Functional neurological symptoms have been observed in young people globally during the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting with rapid onset of complex motor and vocal tic-like behaviours. Dr Davide Martino (Hotchkiss Brain Institute, University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada) discusses the rise in tic-like behaviour during the COVID-19 pandemic and what registry studies taught us about interventions of these disorders.
